Studio Monitors

Studio monitors are one of the most critical parts of a home or professional recording studio. Studio monitors are designed to have as flat or accurate of a frequency response as possible to ensure you hear all of the details in your mix. In theory, if a studio monitor has a perfectly flat frequency response, it will allow your mixes to translate well "out in the wild", no matter what kind of speaker system the listener is using.

One of the most identifiable and notable studio monitors in history is the legendary Yamaha NS-10M. These are easy to spot with their white speaker cones and unforgiving sound quality. They are no longer manufactured, but are still used today in many of the top professional studios around the world. If you can make your mix sound good on the NS-10, it will sound good anywhere.
